Freezing temperatures are another reason to move to Florida

Freezing temperatures are another reason to move to Florida

move to florida

One of the best places to feel the cold and see ice in Florida is at Sea World.  I took this picture while visiting Sea World with the grandchildren.

But for many people this winter, cold and ice are all too real all around them.  News reports I am reading claim that in certain parts of the country,  it will be colder today than it is in Antarctica!

That’s cold!

Let us know if you have had enough of the ice, snow and bitter cold.  We can help you sell your home anywhere in the world and help you buy a warmer, less icy home here in Florida.

Elton John concert canceled due to ear infection

Elton John concert canceled due to ear infection

  • Food and soft drinks $42.00
  • Parking $20.00
  • Being told the concert was cancelled well after the official start time.  Frustrating

elton john show canceled

Once the announcement of Elton John’s ear infection and cancellation of the show was made around 8:15-8:20, I was surprised by the number of people who remained seated, as if they were expecting someone in authority, maybe Elton himself,  to shout; “April Fools”.

The 8 people sitting between us and the aisle finally started moving begrudgingly, except for the couple directly next to us.  They made it clear that they were not leaving until, as the lady spoke up, they; “finished their $30.00 beers”.  On the way out, we did hear some folks that seemed overly upset, but most of the concert goers seemed to take it in stride even if a little confused.

I have received an email from Ticketmaster stating the concert will be rescheduled and if we want, we can get a refund.  We will pass on the refund so, feel better Elton, we will see you soon.

Russell Athletic Bowl at Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium

We attended the Russell Athletic Bowl for the 2nd time in the last 3 years and both times were really fun!  The bowl game is held every year at the Orlando Citrus Bowl.  We obtained our tickets as part of our membership with Florida Citrus Sports.  This year we decided to have our own mini-tailgating party.  We ended up parking in lot 1, located on Central and really close to the Citrus Bowl.   We did have a fan who drove down from Louisville park beside us but for the most part, the fan base in lot 1 were decked out in Miami Hurricane colors.  The day was perfect with just the right temperature, good snacks, a few beers, a little corn hole and laughs with good friends.

The game did not go well for the Miami fans.  Louisville dominated early and by time the 3rd quarter was ending, so too was the fun for many of the Hurricane fans as they started for the exits.  Not being a real fan of either team, we joined them and headed home just before the start of the 4th quarter.  Fortunately for us, the fireworks show was held at half time, so our leaving before the end of the game did not result in our missing the light show.

If you get a chance to attend an event at the Citrus Bowl, I would suggest you do.  Throughout the year there are many events held there that should appeal to most anyone living in or near Orlando!

The Old Spice Classic was held near Orlando

Ellen and I had the opportunity to attend this year’s Old Spice Classic which was held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando.  What an amazing event!

For $25 a piece, we sat a few rows up from the floor and got to see Butler, Purdue, and Oklahoma State play some exciting basketball!

The event is held yearly with some of the best teams from around the country invited to play.

I would encourage basketball fans to check out this great event next year.  I’ll see you there

We went to the KISS concert at the Amway Center

Kiss Concert Orlando
KISS concert at the Amway Center

Ellen and I attended the KISS concert at the Amway Center last Friday night in Orlando!

Even though Ellen is not a KISS fan and only knew a few songs, she agreed to go with me to see these legends of rock perform in Orlando as part of the Arena Bowl weekend festivities.

We sat in aisle 222 row 1 and even though we were upper level, there were still great seats to enjoy the show and the music.
