Being told the concert was cancelled well after the official start time. Frustrating
Once the announcement of Elton John’s ear infection and cancellation of the show was made around 8:15-8:20, I was surprised by the number of people who remained seated, as if they were expecting someone in authority, maybe Elton himself, to shout; “April Fools”.
The 8 people sitting between us and the aisle finally started moving begrudgingly, except for the couple directly next to us. They made it clear that they were not leaving until, as the lady spoke up, they; “finished their $30.00 beers”. On the way out, we did hear some folks that seemed overly upset, but most of the concert goers seemed to take it in stride even if a little confused.
I have received an email from Ticketmaster stating the concert will be rescheduled and if we want, we can get a refund. We will pass on the refund so, feel better Elton, we will see you soon.
Ellen and I attended the REO and Chicago concert held in Tampa last weekend. Several of our friends also attended. We left for Tampa early Saturday morning. After dropping off our luggage at the hotel we ventured over to the Hard Rock casino. I am happy to report that minus a few dollars spent on beer, we only lost the one dollar Ellen donated to a slot machine.
I was excited to see REO. They were the opening act and the group played all of the hit songs I remembered and their set was high energy.
Chicago was a bit of a disappointment to me. A lot of the opening set were songs I am not familiar with and it seemed to me the concert crowd lacked the enthusiasm and energy it had displayed for REO.
All things considered, it was a fun trip with good folk. Lots of laughs, silliness and memories.
Last night Ellen and I joined friends at the Dr. Phillips center for the performing arts to watch the concert put on by a duo from our past, Hall and Oates.
First off, if you have not seen a show at the performing arts center, you really should make plans to do so. The center offers a nearly flawless venue to enjoy your favorite group or show. I say nearly only because parking is a little difficult and/or pricy. We ended up using valet. $35.00. Ouch!
The Hall & Oates show exceeded our expectations. It is really nice to go to a show and hear music that you know and can sing along. “I can’t go for that”, “You make my dreams” and “You’ve lost that lovin’ feeling” were crowd pleasers! The entire band was energetic and you could tell they were enjoying putting on the show as much as the audience was enjoying it.
Great concerts like this one is another reason we think living near Orlando is awesome!
We had an opportunity to go listed to one of our most recent customers perform last night at The Brewery Barrel Bar located in the O-Town area of Kissimmee last night.
Ryan Robinette sang a number of songs we were very familiar with. The young man is an amazing talent. When he becomes a huge success we will be able to say “we knew him when”.
As we understood, The Brewery Barrel Bar just recently opened They offered a wide variety of bottled and draft beers from all over the road. beer barrels served as the base for their tables and you even walked through a beer barrel door when entering.
We enjoyed our Saturday night out there and would suggest checking out both Ryan and The Brewery Barrel Bar.
